Hi,
Im having a bit of difficulty accessing the internet. It was working but in usual style ive changed nothing and it doesn’t anymore!
I have all the correct lights on the router, the lan is enabled and the settings are correct. When I open IE I get page cannot be displayed. When I try the router settings on 192.168.1.1, I also get page cannot be displayed. I cant for the life of me think what it could be. The computer im on is a good clean computer and its been great for me in the past, if it was the old banger downstairs I could understand it. Can anyone offer advice on what it could be, or at least advice on how to get into the router settings, that would do for a start.
Thanks
Lee

Quick couple of guesses:-
Is your pc bringing up one of the lan lights on the router?
Are you connected via cable to the pc? (if not, then do so for testing)0 -
I sometimes get a similar problem with my wireless connection ( lights on router fine ) and if I click on wireless network connection - view available wireless networks there are no networks in the list and it says windows cannot configure this connection etc etc so I click on start - run and typec:\windows\system32\net.exe start wzcsvc0

Im not wireless so i connect using the ethernet cable to the ethernet port. The Ethernet light on the router is lit up fine and is steady, as is the internet light. It must be something with how im trying to view the internet. Its weird because ive had exactly the same internet / router setting on this pc before.
Thanks

Still having problems? Its weird because ive had exactly the same internet / router setting on this pc before.
To see what's happening on the LAN side, then ipconfig can be useful
open a dos window (Start, Run, type in cmd)
when window opens type ipconfig /all
this will show you the state of play for the LAN side, whether the pc is being issued with ip etc0
