Max factor got me too, although I wasn't asked for any addresses etc and i can find no definite statement that i was going to be charged £15 over 10 texts in the competition entry process!!
I am not going to pay the bill for this, i emailed them requesting a refund politely after the third message (my inbox was full!!) and am going to phone my mobile company tomorrow before any bill is drawn up to ask them to block it - it's worth a try surely?!?

I got stung and put STOP after the 4th message, checked my mobile bill SHOCK HORROR it said there were 30 messages. I rang my mobile company explained the situation, they gave me a phone number to ring. Lo and behold number is disconnected, rang my mobile company again told them about the situation again.
THey have suspended that payment and sent it off to their investigation department, so hopefully they will sort it out for me. If not then I will complain about it.0 -
ICTIS recommend sending the words STOP ALL for this type of con as you may have subscribed to more than one service from the provider. There is a useful phone number checker at

Dont see why people are complaining to their mobile providers, its YOUR responsibility to pay for these charges >.>0

Thank you, I have just sent in a complaint. Hopefully they will sort it out, if not then I will refuse to pay as I know I sent in the word STOP.0

Not when you text STOP to these companies, then they continue to add on payments that you do not know about.
As long as you tell your mobile provider what has happened, they should be more than willing to find out what has happened and help you.
As for all the smug comments, please be aware that one day it may happen to you. When it does I hope you remember what you said to everyone else.0 -
I didnt mean like that, I meant like the OP, who looked for someone else to blame other than themselves.....0

A mobile phone provider has a lot more details than a consumer, they know if X is billing a lot of their customers say after 1-6 Y, implying that customers have canceled Y but some reason sticking with X, add complaints about Y and anyone with any experience in the industry will smell a rat.
It most definitely falls under customer service for a phone company to help prevent and limit their customers being scammed using their service.0
