After years putting up with NTL`s poor service decided to change to Sky.
Ordered Sky+ a friend stayed in for the day, on our return they had installed Sky+ Multiroom (second box).
Rang Sky who suggested we `must have` ordered multiroom because it says so on their computer. When I explained that if we had ordered Multiroom we would have been charged £149 for installation rather than the £99 we had paid.
Their answer was `perhaps someone did you a deal`
Now, bearing in mind it was their fault, you would have thought they would have wanted to keep a new customer `happy` by perhaps offering a discount on the £10pm they want for the second box....... no ....... the ONLY options are....
1) Keep the second box and pay for it.
2) Cancel the account, they will then have to de-install the whole lot. We can then sign up AGAIN for Sky+ and they will come back and re-install it....LOL
Can`t you just send your man back to remove the one box. NO
To add insult to injury, I asked if we were crazy enough to go for option 2, would they honour the original £99 price. Maybe not, if the price has gone up, you may have to pay more.......

I totally know how ya feel, Sky have pushed me just to far this time and ive cancelled my subs with them,
i've been with them now for about 11 years, and got the sky+ just over a year ago, i am so sick and tired of the way they treat their loyal customers with c0ck ups and overcharges etc and not a word of an apology they just treat you like its your fault and its like it or lump it, well they've peed on their own bonfire once to often with me, and i wont be going back to them. :mad:Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

Been an ntl customer for almost 10 years now, and yes they have notoriously slow customer service, but I have only praise for the service guys. Ok it takes an age to get through to anyone when you do develop a fault, but the service guys are brilliant - turn up when they say they will, and only leave when you are completely satisfied. There was a promo recently for any existing BT customers switching to ntl, they would receive half price broadband. I called to complain, as they were not offering their existing customers any discounts and was instantly offered a deal (okay it did take me best part of 40 mins to get through). I could choose free line rental, or half price broadband. Went for the half price broadband, so I could spend longer on this site. :eek:Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

live in Dorset-near Poole and we do not get freeview here.Have had a tv for 2 years now that will receive it but still no freeview down here.Apparently it would interfere with the French(as we are on the South coast)-as if they'd care if it was the other way around.
I'm sick of paying sky-they totally rip you off.Thay ripped my Mum off, long story so i won't bore you with it but basically overcharged her for everything .Got nowhere after many phone calls to their very expensive number.Maybe it would be good to get watchdog involved as basically what they did to my mum was stealing.I hate sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I want money..........that's what I want !!:j0 -
shall we all email Watchdog?? Anybody else been ripped off?I want money..........that's what I want !!:j0

I can't get NTL as there is no cable that runs close enough to the house, as I believe it needs to right outside your front door almost, so I can't have that unfortunately. Which I would like.
I have SKY. But I would like the freeview, but you can't get films like Sky can you otherwise I would change it like a shot.:)
Does anyone know anything else, I don,t, re FreeView or NTL.0 -
kazzy - I'm in Corfe Mullen (not a million miles away from Poole!!!!). We have recently changed from Sky (basic package at £19.50 a month) to FreeSky at £20.00 for 3 YEARS. There was a big ad in the local freebie Advertiser a few weeks ago and I thought 'well, why not'. I was a doddle to change (despite my cynical thoughts) and seems to work okay! Not as many channels though, but then we didn't watch all the others anyway. Maybe worth a try????0

Hi,thanks for that.Is it a one off charge of £20 to change and then no more subscriptions?.Do you get itv2 and3 and sky news etc.How do you go about changing,do you know?? I'd like to do that.
Cheers from Poole!!!I want money..........that's what I want !!:j0 -
Hi, neighbour!
I think you have to pay £20 every 3 years - but that's a lot better than £20 a month!!! As far as I remember we just phoned up Sky and they sorted it out - really easy: I was impressed!!! Thought they'd try to convince me to continue paying out for the full thingy.
Yes, we get Sky News and the ITV ones.0
