HiI have the above headset and everytime i try and make a call via skype I soundlike a dalek to the other person.I have tried changing the settings under volume but to no avail. When I listen to music etc through the headset it is fine, but when I talk it is not so good even when I do the "Test hardware" under "sound and audio devices" under "volume".Does anyone know a way round?thanks

if you use the same headset, and do a skype test call, do you sound like a dalek, if you recorder a short bit of speech using sound recorder/audacity etc. does it sound ok?

what about, start, run, sndrec32.exe .. it will rule out a microphone fault..

is the other user on broadband?

Hi that bought the sound recorder up and i tried it, a few times.I can record and play back is no that good there is interference in the background and the dalek is not so bad now almost gone.the other people are on mobiles or landlines and various ones and they all say there is interference in the back ground/i can hear inteference even now without recording, a slight hiss constantly in the background

    Are you a Dalek

Try a voice test, right click the speaker icon then adjust audio properties then voice tab then test hardware also on the audio tab make sure in recording you have selected it and not your default input device.
i may as well be a dalektrying the test hardware way it sound like i am slurring my less darlek like speech and i still have a hissing sound in the back

I assume that the microphone is plugged in firmly?

Does the dalek thing happen in sound recorder, or just skype..

if the latter, that's voip for you..
