Thinking Of Leaving BT (Need alternatives)

Options
Ok so i joined BT option 1 and vision bronze package last jan/feb for a 12 month contract on vision and im pretty sure a 12 month contract on broadband still to check that out.

Well last week i dropped vision and got Sky HD put in :D

But i always get emails from BT saying im going over my limit each month well what do you expect with 10gb in this day and age;) Im paying £15.99 a month for it which i think is ridiculous for the allowance you get and i refuse to pay £27 for so called "unlimited".

So my question is should i say im going to cancel and see what deals they give me? anyone got any recent experience of this?
Or change to sky for £17 a month for 40gb as unfortunetly i live in a rural area so this does restrict me of options i can get.

My current speed is 6mb :o

BT have a package called Talk and Surf Unlimited at £27.99 which I am assuming you are referring to (BB Option 3 and anytime calls). Based on Sky's offer I assume you are in a Market 1 area meaning it'll cost you more than most areas. BT will be able to do the Talk and Surf Unlimited option at £19.99 if you are out of contract and eligible for the package regardless of your market. Maybe take a look at Plusnet. Typing your number into www.samknows.com will let you know what LLU providers are in your exchange and give you a good start.

If you do decide to stay with BT you can keep using the BT Vision box for freeview without paying for it. They might need to reconnect that part though.

If 10GB is not enough, you could get Plusnet Premium (80GB) for £19.99 on a Market 1 or Market 2 exchange. Quidco cashback available.

How about O2 home access? It's three months free then £17.50 a month - it's unlimited but they're more lenient with their fair use policy than others although if you're only just falling foul of 10GB at the moment you shouldn't need to worry about that anyway.

I guess it depends how much you're paying for SkyTV at the mo - 1 HD viewing pack and surf unlimited works out at £43...

I was thinking about plusnet but iv heard lots of bad things about them. I shall have a look at o2 today.

I see you get o2 broadband cheaper if you are an o2 customer so if i had a o2 pay as you go sim but didnt use it would i still get that discount or is there a minimum amount to stop people doing this?

You have to top up minimum £10 per quarter to get the continued £5 mobile discount. So even if you don't use it, you will spend £40 to save £60.

You can still take this package if you are in contract for your unlimited call plan. (Talk and Surf Unlimited) you just no longer pay that £4.
