I received a reply from DooYoo today and basically they are not going to reopen my account. I did get a reply from a human, this I know but he/she may as well not be human after the half assed reply I got. DooYoo doesn't like the fact that I am posting their conversation in this thread so I will not quote anymore of their conversations.
I will now go down the routes suggested here including reporting them to Watchdog and other similar organisations. I will also telephone them and write them a letter. If I broke the same rule multiple times and tried to cheat the system then fair enough, I wouldn't be doing this but I seriously believe their decision is incredibly harsh and inhuman.0 -
Thanks for your reply,
I will report them to the sources you listed above if they do not reopen my account. How hard is it for them to lock my review and allow me to adjust it? Geez, does the effort I put in from the past even matter here? I am treated like a new member with no history, I feel worthless
Does anyone have a phone number for DooYoo UK? I would be interested in phoning them. I suppose I could write them a letter if all else fails.
I would send you a copy of the letter I sent them, but you would probably plagarise it :rotfl:0 -
DooYoo have done this with at least three people I know. And they didn't even copy! I know, I read their reviews.
Anyway DooYoo are a waste of time and I'm sure there are more people in the same position as you. It's just DooYoo's way of not paying out. I think you should complain and then forget about these time wasters.0 -

I'm more concerned over the time I wasted writing these reviews, thank god I backed my reviews up! I did this in fear just before applying for my Amazon voucher (because I heard stories of DooYoo blocking your account as you attempt to cash out)0 -

I agree, they require remarkably high standards for a measly 50 pence.
What people don't seem to think this deep about is the fact that we are actually workers who design their website for them ie writing the reviews.
No reviews equals no successful website!
And yet they treat their members this way. I'm not saying the OP was in the right as he was certainly wrong for copying some of it but it was harsh to just close his account like that.
It was only because DY made a mistake of their own that they kept my account open, which they admitted to, but have decided to keep it open as if it's something I should appreciate it.
Me thinks it's a way for them to get me to "correct" my two so called sub standard Very Useful reviews so it keeps the credibility of their website going.
Business is business after all.
I'm actually surprised my account is still open, I just checked it but I won't be writing reviews for them again.
I have already told them that if they were to close my account, that they take down every review I have posted and have specifically stated that I no longer accepted their terms. I still have a copy of my outgoing and incoming correspondence between me and them.
I've been a mug long enough.
Btw, Gohan, you may as well just call the time invested in the site a loss. Not much can be done about that, mate, and I hardly think DY really care, unfortunately.0 -
I know everything is not lost, I have backed up my reviews and I can post them on Ciao, at least I can still express my opinion on the products I have reviews. This is not the point though, and I have almost completed my letter to DooYoo.
Thanks for your comments everyone.0 -
just got deleted the other day too, at least i had only written 10 reviews since last payment (i was writing unique 180 word short reviews). doesn't bother me as it wasn't a big earner. i don't see how they can pay 50p for so many reviews anyway, it doesn't add up when there are far more reviews on amazon too. who wants to read 500 words about heinz baked beans before going to tesco? :P0

I rang that number today and a German lady answered the phone. She also speaks English so we had a talk, she adviced me to email Dooyoo but after explaining I have already done that, she asked for my contact details and said she will get someone to telephone me soon. A German man rang me 10 minutes later saying he is from DooYoo and asked the name of my shop. I explained I am a user not a shop so he said he will get someone to email me who can help. If I do not hear back from them, I will send off the letter I have already typed.0
