Okay, I worded that badly. I don't think Dooyoo have broken the law, though. So they would have to have broken their own rules for their to be a legal case, right?
And the OP broke the rules, and probably won't receive anything but short, generic responses. I just wanted to stop them wasting the time, everyone seems to fight them but nothing ever comes of it.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
I understand what you are saying but I cannot help it that 1 review out of almost 100 I've written wasn't good enough for DooYoo.
It's not a case of it not being good enough, it's a case of them thinking you copied it from another site.
They have software that reads your review then compares it to what is written on other sites. If the software says it is X% the same as another site then they assume you have copied too much from the other site.
Just leaving out one or two words, or adding one or two words in a sentence is not not enough.
Take a look at the two sentences below, the first one is from your review, and the second one is from this site http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Desmond_Miles. Their software will tell them that your work is over 80% the same as another site. Only 3 words are different.

Yes, that is very right. Well, it is my opinion and yours, and we both can't be wrongSaucySecrets wrote: »And the OP broke the rules, and probably won't receive anything but short, generic responses. I agree with you, the OP has broken the rules and nothing can be done about it. Many people say they will fight them, but I think in reality very few ever take it further than ranting in a forum.
I have no doubt that Dooyoo, if taken to court, could come up with the web pages the review was copied from.0 -

Yes, that particular sentence is very similar to the Wikipedia article, almost identical but other sentences I re-wrote are not as similar as that. Please don't forget that most of my review was not written from Wikipedia.geordie_joe wrote: »I have no doubt that Dooyoo, if taken to court, could come up with the web pages the review was copied from.
No need to come up with the webpage, we all know where it came from including DooYoo.0 -
With the greatest respect, I think you are missing the point.
You aren't supposed to copy any of the review. A lot of people were banned earlier this year for copy/pasting the computer specs of games, or ingredients in recipes. You aren't supposed to copy anything, either rewrite it, or leave it out. And rewriting means digesting the information yourself, not changing some words, which is what DooYoo and other people here can see you've done.
I really think you are fighting a losing battle. You could try one of the other review sites? Although none of them are as well paid as Dooyoo, or as well known.Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

But their software won't look at the entire article, it will look at the first few sentences, which are very similar to other web sites, then decide too much is copied.
Some thing like this
Sentence 1 = 80% copied
Sentence 2 = 80% copied
Sentence 3 = 80% copied
Sentence 4 = 80% copied
B*gger it, this article is copied. No need to come up with the webpage, we all know where it came from including DooYoo.
In a court of law there would be every need to come up with the web page. They would claim you copied to much of the article, and the judge would ask "Where from". If they didn't come up with the web page they would find them selves coming second in a two horse race.0 -
I know it doesn't make it right but I believe DooYoo are being really harsh considering only a few sentences and not the rest of my review and the 80 other reviews I've written. This is all I am saying, I am not trying to say I am completely innocent because I am not but the closure of my account I feel is ridiculous.0

is it really worth all the hassle and stress ?0

It is harsh, but that's the way they do it, they have a line and if you cross it you're out.
You can email them but I doubt if a human will reed your emails. The system will probably just send you a pre-written email explaining why you were kicked out.
Right from the start they would have been expecting lots of copied materiel, and put in place an automatic system to deal with it as they won't have time to get into "discussions" with every one who submits copied stuff.0 -
I can't help but think that in the time it's taken to write 100 reviews, you could have gone out and earned at the very least £30 in cash, which you're not restricted to spending at Amazon.
I think these review sites require a helluva lot of effort for very little reward. Even moreso when situations like this arise.0
