  • Hello

I have been on CCCS site and done debt remedy and been emailed summary and then DMP Pack. However I did it all in a bit of a rush (PANIC!!) and now realise there are debts I have missed off and the budget for food and other household bills needs adjusting a bit.

How should I go about this - I have tried to ring CCCS but I realise it is a very busy number. I am just wondering should I just start again and resubmit a new debt remedy or will that cause confusion. I look forward to hearng from you. RON

I need this info too. Also our income has changed since we completed the online details (got a promotion :j) so more money coming in and our childcare payment have reduced.

Can you advise should I resubmit or just contact you with the details?

    Thanks,

    Hi sue
When do the CCCS make payments to creditors. I thought it was around the 25th of each month but my plan says the 1st Sept anxious to get some money off to crediitors

    Thanks
  • Hi

I have just done the debt remedy and see that i should offer my creditors £1 for now until i can pay more. However i dont think i could explain everything properly on the debt remedy questions. I live with my partner and we have a joint bank account. We both get paid £1100 each per month. Our wages only just cover our bills, food and petrol, these bills include 2 credit cards and 2 loans which are in my partners name however they are actually joint debts. We pay the minimum on these each month and my partner has never missed a payment on anything meaning his credit history is good. However i have a loan, a credit card and an overdraft with lloyds tsb (all 3 are now with different credititors) this was debt that i got into before we got together, at the moment i havent made any payments towards these for about 2 years i really want to sort these out and its now at the stage where its going to go to court (although havent got a ccj or anything yet) just threats.

What i need to know is, i am currently jointly paying the debts in my partners name, but not paying any that are in mine (my credit history was bad before we got together we paid a lot off and these somehow got missed out). If i tried to set up a dmp will i have to stop payiing the minimum balances on the debts that are in my partners name in order to pay more to the ones in mine? i really really dont want to do this and thats why i have never done anything before

    please help

    xx
  • I started my DMP with CCCS two months ago, making an initial payment of £40 in July and £124 on the first of August. The £40 was a somewhat of a "token" payment to my three creditors and I'll be paying £124 each month from now on to Egg, Santander and MBNA.

I have heard off MBNA that they have accepted the DMP but yesterday, Saturday 21st, I received a letter from Santander saying that they have been advised that a third party was assissting me with my financial affairs but they have decided to write to me as they have not received a payment for some time. The letter is dated August 17th and it says that if they do not receive some payment within 10 days they will issue a default on my account.

What should I do? Contact CCCS and ask why Santander have not received a payment? I think (but correct me if I'm wrong) that the £124 I paid on August the first is given to my creditors on the 27th of this month but surely they would have received a small payment from the £40 I paid in July? I know the money has gone from my account and my statement from CCCS verifies this. Should I telephone Santander and say this (I don't really want to do that thoough- I'll probably end up agreeing to all sorts, I panic in high pressured situations!!!!! lol!!!!).

    Any ideas guys? Thanks.

    Hello

I have to post a message now for some help.

I have gradually filled my two overdrafts total 1500 pounds surviving being unemployed.

I also have a credit card I am paying from my overdrafts £80 a month.

I tried two times to get a balace transfer to another card but the bank computer wont let me as no major regular money has gone in it for over a year.

My unemployment goes on my £20 month overdraft charges and credit card food and bills.

I am at a loss now being unemployed nothing of value to sell how to pay these bills from now on.

I have £20 left for food with my overdraft until my unemployment goes in every two weeks.

I spend £10 daily on food.

The bank wil not let me get an extension until I have a job.
There are not many jobs around here I can go for at all and they dont ome up very often.

    I dont have a car

My credit card will not accept less than £80 standing order per month.

If you can help me I can do with some advice pretty sharp.

I have no family to help apart from brother who is more or less in same situation with debts.

Some bills also just came in again.
I only own 20 percent of the house as my brother.
I have sent a debt budget letters from Citizen Advice but the credit card and bank overdraft tend to ignore it

Hi, i am currently with a Debt Management Company called Gregory Pennington (which i have to pay £29.50 a month for!), i was just wondering do you do the same job for free? such as keep the creditors off my back? My financial situation has changed drastically over the last month as i have lost my job and am currently only paying Greg Penn £90 a month, (but seeing as they take £29.50, only £60.50 goes towards approx £24000 worth of debt!)

Would you take me on even though i am currently not working?

thanks, look forward to a reply.

Hi mjs12345 and thank you for your email.

We don’t charge for setting up or administering a debt management plan. However, you would need to have an appointment with one of our debt counsellors first. If the counsellor is happy to offer a DMP as a result of your appointment, we would then discuss with you how to end the current arrangement you have with Gregory Pennington and how to set it up with ourselves.

If you are unemployed at the moment, we will give you detailed advice based on your current circumstances. We will also discuss your options if your situation changes and you find a job.

If you would like us to take a look at your situation to discuss what solutions are available to you, you would need to book a telephone based appointment with one of our trained debt counsellors by calling our helpline on 0800 138 1111. Lines are open Monday to Friday 08:00-20:00. It would be helpful that when you call you have details ready regarding your income, expenditure and creditors, as this can help speed up the referral process. If you have this information ready it may be possible to refer you directly to a counsellor if one is available, otherwise we will arrange a time that is convenient for you to be called back for an appointment.

Alternatively, you can use our online electronic facility called Debt Remedy. Debt Remedy will assist you in completing a financial statement which includes information on your household, employment, income, expenditure and debts. All this information is used as a basis to determine the options available to you to deal with your situation.

Once you’ve followed the process through and completed all the required information you will immediately be presented with an advice booklet, which will provide tailored advice for you based on your current circumstances. It will also provide advice on ways you may be able to improve your situation. If you would like to get immediate advice on your situation this link will take you directly to Debt Remedy http://www.cccs.co.uk/ref/drcu

    Hi
I took out a large loan £25K over 7 years last year the repayments were £408, at the time we were struggling with our huge mortgage of £1476 per month plus other committments. My husband is self employed and the recession hit his business. I am lucky to have decent full time job but our outgoings decimate my salary each month. I contacted our mortgage lender and halfed our mortgage payments for 12 months (this ends in October) however I couldn't afford the other loan repayments and ended the direct debit and wrote to them explaining why. The loan is unsecured. I have been paying money off as and when but it has now gone through a repayment agency who have now passed it onto a debt recovery outfit. I rang the repayment agency last week as I had managed to pull together £800 to pay them but they refused to discuss it as my debt had already been passed over (even though there was supposed to be a 10 day hold on my account) I have not heard from dept recovery agency as yet but I am now worried that i will get a court summons or bailiffs in the very near future. What do you know will happen next?

Hi Carosel and thank you for your email.

With regards to what the creditors might do next, you may get county court paperwork through the post, but this does not mean that you have to attend court. Bailiffs would only be instructed if you ignore a county court judgement or are behind on council tax or magistrates fines. For more detailed information on the collections process, you can visit the CCCS InfoCentre on our website here: http://www.cccs.co.uk/InfoCentre/EnglandandWales/Creditoraction.aspx

I would recommend that you call our free helpline to discuss your circumstances with one of our trained debt counsellors. They will look at your situation and fully explore all of the options that are available to you.

To book an appointment you would need to call free on 0800 138 1111. Lines are open Monday to Friday 08:00-20:00. Hi some advice please

Currentley in the process of starting DMP first payment should be next week to all creditors all have been ok about it except Aqua credit card who have seem to have ignorned all letters from me and the CCCS.

They have put further charges on August bill is this normal for them to do this and do you think once they get their £13.62 next week they will be ok everyone else has been ok about it. i dont want the debt to get bigger.

    Thanks Jackiexxxx

Hi Jackie and thank you for your message.

Unfortunately Aqua has the right to continue to add interest and charges. All charges that can be added are stated upfront in the terms and conditions of the credit application which you are required to sign to take out credit.

In most cases, there is nothing we can do to stop interest and charges being added. However, if you make reduced payments over a long period of time, usually several months, most creditors will eventually stop charging interest and adding late payment charges.

Usually, a creditor will stop interest and charges either after they issue a default notice or they pass it onto a debt collection agency, although this does not always happen.

    Kind regards,
    Pavan
