I really like that idea for my kids. My son is really into gardening. We only have 4 kids coming, am now thinking if I could get some seeds (like sunflowers) so that they can watch them grow and remind them of wedding. What seeds would flower year after year?Became Mrs Lawson on May 1st 2010

However I was speaking to my OH about what to give the men- I asked him what kind of favours he had got at weddings. He said he couldnt remember and in his opinon not to give the men favours and they dont really want them ! Normally he is very generous so I was suprised but Im going with his wishes -just hope the men dont get huffy on me ! lol
What about home made chocolate truffels?
They're easy to make, and it'll be a little something that almost all of them will like!0 -
Am I the only person not having favours? I don't see the point and tbh it's costing enough without giving trinkits to people, half of which will probably be left on the table.
Do I sound really miserable lol?
My total for all my day & evening guest favours has been £10, so very MSE0 -
Second getting the fortune cookies from local chinese supermarket -they are a lot cheaper and still come in little foils.
Im only having favours for the day guests ,I want to make something so am looking at a few possabilities -bath bombs, candles etc.

I saw little bundles of mini Green & Blacks choclates tied in ribbon at a wedding recently, as favours to the men. They do them on their website, but you could probably make your own by buying the packs of minitures from tesco or other supermarket & tying the bundles yoruself? Would be much cheaper. I saw 12 packs for about £3.

going to probably for go the favours and just give a donation to charity instead. i've got a nephew who's autistic so i'll probably donate to one of the charities near him.
thinking of buying the autistic ribbon (the jigsaw pattern) and make up little ribbons for each guest with muliti coloured pins in them so people can put them on (like the aids awareness ribbon or breast cancer one)
currently there's no autism charity that actually gets the money from these type of badges or ribbons which you can buy online so this way i get to donate to charity and raise awareness for autism.

That's a nice idea, as you combine a favour and a donation that way0 -
We weren't going to have favours but the more I think about it, I want to do something for our day guests since they are all family and wedding party.
What do you think is a fair cost?No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
In work today I asled a Chinese colleague where she recommended to buy the fortune cookies http://www.wingyipstore.co.uk/display-product.php?ref=81048&searchStr=cookie&returnaction=searching&urlret=searchmain.php
Think I'll have to have lunch whilst I'm there !

Traditionally, only the female guests would receive favours, used to be small things like rings, doves, horseshoes, wishbones etc (in the dim & distant days lol) and the bride and her bridesmaid would go round the tables during the evening handing out the favours and pieces of wedding cake which were wrapped in small bags.
But as with everything else, times change and it`s really anything goes these days.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
