Trojan Help!

Options
I was using my laptop yesterday on my girlfriend telewest broadband, all of a sudden AVG flashed up and said it had been afected with a trojan, within 5 mins it had 4 trojans on the machine. I healed them but now every hour a trojan pops up.

What is the best program to get rid of these?

  • note down the actual virus name/code. May look weird like

    W32.Sobog/b

(It wont be that but it may look something similar)

Once you know what it is go to google and search for the name then "Remove". You should get links with how to delete it :)

Other option is use https://www.free-av.com INSTEAD of AVG. That actually removes the viruses rather than do nothing as AVG seems to do a lot....

    Good luck

  • Also try downloading and running AdAware by a company called lavasoft.com -- a free program, removes lots of malicious things and some (but not all) trojans.

I've only just started using it in the last week and it seems to catch everything spybot does and some things that spybot misses.

There is a trojan remover called - 'Trojan Remover', available from http://www.majorgeeks.com/Trojan_Remover_d903.html It's shareware but fully functional for 30 days so install, run it & then uninstall.
