Anyone getting FreeviewHD in South Birmingham?

As per title - was thinking of purchasing a Humax Fox-T2 HD receiver but not worth it unless the signal can reach the southern parts of Birmingham. As I understand, a HD signal is being sent out via the lower powered Lichfield transmitter (as of end March), a bit further north than the Sutton transmitter and so don't want to waste my money if I can't get the HD channels...

Is it worth waiting for the PVR?

I'm sure if you buy from somewhere like John Lewis you'd be able to take it back. Any internet retailer must accept returns for up to 7 days - though you'd have to pay the postage.

Thanks, never thought of just trying one if I'm entitled to return it - just didn't want the hassle.

Yep, might be worth waiting for the PVR but i've heard that the USB/LAN will be utilised in later firmware updates to be able to send the data to a recording device -PC/USB HD etc. I've got the old Humax 9200t and it was wicked but i'd record stuff and never watch it so i'm not too fussed really.

Yep, not worth the additional cost if you rarely use it. I imagine the Humax PVR will be at least £300.
Using the USB to record the odd program may well be sufficient for your needs (assuming they go ahead and enable it) but with only one tuner you can't watch another channel while recording, so bear that in mind.
