Black saturn: this is not a personal website, anyone can put pictures on webshots, and anyone can look at them unless you lock the file.....if however the moderators feel I have infringed the rules then please feel free to remove the post.

Thankyou to those of you who have looked, my quilts etc are in the files marked my quilts and the card I made is in the my sewing room file. The rest are photos of quilts shows I have been to including the one in Paducah in the US and Shipshewana the Amish community I visted in Indiana, I went specifically to see their work, it was wonderful. I met an Amish lady there who had supported her whole family with her quilt making after her husband suffered a massive heart attack at the age of 28, he was uable to do heavy work again, but he did help her by cutting out and sewing (on a treadle machine) some of her quilts, they were all finished with hand quilting.

A visit to an american quilt show had long been on my wish list and thanks to the generosity of a lady I met on the internet and with whom I have become friends I was able to do this, we spent a very happy 2 weeks revelling in nothing but quilts.

Lillibet.... usually I make quilts for family and close freinds..... the quilted cushions in the pictures were last years Christmas presents for various people mostly in the US and for my daughter.

Regarding selling quilts, its an imotive subject, a queen size quilt such as the churndash when its hand quilted would cost about £600........ if I were to sell it, people do not realise the time that goes into hand quilting and how much of a strain it can be on your hands. I have a Christmas quilt which is not on the site as yet it has taken me 3 years so far and it still is not finished. I am hoping to finish it this year. The I spy quilts, which can be used as cot quilts (once a baby is over 1 year odl) or play mats would be around £50 and a lap quilt, which is like the star quilt I made for my grand daughter for her 18th birthday would be £150, but as I say most of my quilts are made for family. However the quilted cushion covers usually some out at around £10, they are what we call whole cloth quilted, in other words they are made from a whole piece of cloth rather than patches (patchwork) I also make quilted bags the cost of those varies acording to the size and complexity.

Quilting really is a hobby for me, keeps me sane when all around is going bang.......

Tootles, they're beautiful! I've done a bit of needlepoint in my time - cushion covers in wool, but none finished yet! My plan is to become more OS, and you've inspired me to get my nedles out in the Autumn (once the garden stips calling me).

We had some beautiful quilts in the B&Bs we stayed in on holiday. DD is keen to have a go. Any hints to books or web sites?

BS - I think the rule you're referring to is no links in signatures. Don't think Tootles has overstepped this one.
