Worth checking out the Eden project if you can - last year it was best to go after five as it was much cheaper and there is a great atmosphere. It stayed open till tennish - I guess you could check it out on their website. Look at the Jungle Season section for details.0

So much to do in Cornwall it really is lovely.
Fave places of mine are Boscastle ,St. Ives ,mousehole -beautiful and quaint villages.
Great beach at Perranporth.
Have a drive down to lands end ,lots to do there now for the kids and while youre down there visit the Minack theatre .
Looe is a great place too(crab fishing over the pier) my kids love it and you could also visit Polperro another fishing village, but I think they are a good 2 hour drive from Newquay?
Enjoy yourself !!Moneysaving? - I cant stop spending because of this site!0 -
I am Cornish born and bred but have been playing at being an emmet today, we went to Goonhilly and had a fab time. The time just flew by, there was alot to see and do and was so interesting. I'd definately recommend it over the "plastic" theme parks around.Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

The tin mine at Geevor is worth a visit if you are into industrial history. There is also the Poldark mine near Helston which is good if you want to go underground (assuming they are still open - last visited in 2002).
Re the Eden project - when it rains, the whole tourist population of Cornwall and West Devon has the same idea, and can get horribly overcrowded those days, but is worth a visit nevertheless. Theres a load of less busy gardens worth visiting, e.g. Helligan and the one with a Maze near Helston (whose name escapes me) are two we enjoyed.
Cape Cornwall just North of Lands End is fairly dramatic, and one can walk to Lands End from there on the coastal path, thereby avoiding entrance fees (or one could 5 years ago when I last went) but IMO Lands End is just one great big tourist trap. The drive around the "toe" (past Mousehole, the Minnack Theatre, Lands End, Cape Cornwall, Geevor, Zennor and back to St Ives (a bit of a tourist trap) is ace for scenery.
On the way back, there is Trago Mills "superstore" where you can get just about anything at Liskeard on the A38, where there are bargains galore amongst the heaps of tat.
Have fun.0
