I can only imagine it was intentional.
  • Hi,
I am new to the Forum. Does anyone know what expenses I can claim on DLA Cares Allowances. I earn under the £100 a week allowance (after Tax etc). I have tried the DLA site without any luck. Can I use allowances for such things like petrol for going back and forward to work ETC. Your help would be appreciated on this.

    Thanks Arthur

I'm not aware that you can claim for any expenses.

Firs of all you need to tell us if you're getting DLA care component for yourself because you have a disability or if you get Carers Allowance for looking after someone who is on DLA.

I think you're getting confused with the £100 earnings limit. That's for those who are receiving Carers Allowance and not for the DLA care component (yes it is confusing!)

Whether it's CA or DLA you can use it for whatever you want.

I don't know what you mean by expenses but you don't get any anyway

You might well be entitled to Working Tax Credit if you have a disability which puts you at a disadvantage of getting a job (which I assume you do). You should ring the Tax Credits helpline. They will tell you and send you out a claim form.
I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!
