Broadband Tax

I have just downloaded my paperless Virgin Bill, and was horrified to find that I have been charged the 50p Broadband tax that I thought had been slung out after the Election announcement!!! I know its only 50p, but Virgin seem to try everything to squeeze extra money out of its customers.
Any suggestions, please?

You are correct, the broadband tax (and the cider tax
) have been postponed until after the election.
It looks like Virgin owes you 50p.0 -
It's a ridiculous tax... many people don't have and never will have any form of internet connection (I am in a house right now that has never had a PC/internet and never will), yet they're expected to pay the tax so others will have it.
It's a tax on the elderly, so teens can surf faster for !!!!!!.0 -
I live in a rural area (my choice so don't want to be told I should move) where b/b speeds and availability are very limited and would just like to thank everyone who will eventually pay this 50p "tax" for a hopefully or allegedly better choice and service.:D0

I don't want to pay the tax either, but then I'd rather not pay any tax at all.
I live in a rural area and I already pay well over the odds for a decent broadband connection. I think that the tax would be much fairer if it was only levied on people who live in Market 3 areas. It's a tax on the elderly, so teens can surf faster for !!!!!!.
Why the elderly? My father is in his mid eighties and uses the internet regularly. So regularly, in fact, that my mother has had to buy a laptop so she can surf too.0
