For years, yes years I've been trying to remember the name of that stuff, I loved it and could only get it in Bonny Scotland [we lived there when I was a kid] the taste is lush. Unfortunately I don't have a polish shop nearby - if I did I'd be there at the crack of dawn tomorrow!

Flying - DH has cooked tea so every worktop and avaiable bit of space is now covered in STUFF, so tomorrow will be spent re-doing the kitchen - still, it was a lovely meal

    Night all

    Apparently it just gets worse!

Bear in mind my uncle was an alcyfrolic..

Last contact any of us had with him was beginning of December... despite emails, texts, calls etc..

Apparently they found him dead last week after the neighbours had complained of a smell.. he had been dead about 3 weeks.. they did post mortum and decided he had died of natural causes.

So why has it taken so long for them to contact his family? He was in 'his apartment'.. but he has no phone, no jewellry, no papers from social services, solicitors, bank.. nothing..

Why had his gf not noticed he had been missing for a month?
    Where had his stuff gone?

    Surely someone must have noticed?

They were going to bury him tomorrow.. with noone there.

The only reason they found his family was he had an address in the back of his passport they assumed was his old address, then they found a paper with a phone number on.. luckily the address and number were my aunties so the police went round and told her earlier today.. and the police got in touch with the British Consulate and if we are lucky they will be able to stop the burial tomorrow and get him home.

I don't even want to think about the state he must be in, or the horror that anyone from a family as large as ours could be thought to be alone and unloved.. I don't know whether to be angry or devastated.. I just hope somewhere his gf is lying in a ditch.. because the thought she didn't care enough about him when she kept him over there is too horrible to consider.

The children are 16 months and 2.5years.. they have been in foster care for a year.

We were all carrying on as normal while he was ill and dying then dead and rotting.. with flies.. I hate flies.. Selfish pig!! If he was here I might be a way back in the queue but I'd beat him to a squish.

I'm going to scrub the bathroom... scrubbing makes me feel better...

pigpen - so sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself as well as everyone else.
Crafty - how did you get on with your pc?
    .
Well I uninstalled skype and the pc is definitely running better, but the techie guys said that it doesn't take that much from the pc and shouldn't have caused a problem. I may try installing it again.

Piggers, there was never anything that anyone could have done. For whatever reasons, disease, despair, maybe a belief that he could drink forever, your Uncle went on his journey and he chose to walk it alone....probably I suspect because deep down he knew that he had lost himself.

It is suspicious re the lack of his personal items but just thank 'whatever powers that be' that at the last minute people have found you guys and notified your Mum and other family members.

It could have been much worse whereby you may never have known what had happened to him because they may have buried him without proper i.d.

You're grieving, so you're going to have many questions that sadly, you'll probably never know the answer to.

Remember you hun, have a little life dependent on you at the mo, little squeak, not to mention those lovely, cuddly children of yours that are already here. Now you have to look after you, them and squeak, too much upset has happened in the past year or so for you, enough already, give yourself a break, you can't fix everything.

Just be mindful that he is now at peace, something that I suspect he hadn't been for a long time.

Grieve for your Uncle, the man he was not the man he became.

Sending my love and some big hankies for blowing noses and wiping tears. xxxxx

Sorry Toots not flying I know but some things have to be said. xxx
