no kingfisher my fuel figures are not in error, i dont use my dryer, but my washer is on at least 2 times a day..
Anxious Mum,
i live in the north east of england, my son pays £3 a day busfare to get to college, my younger son goes to a PRU school so gets a taxi which i dont pay for but he still needs dinner money..
yes i am prepayment meter but dont owe a penny to any of them..
WOW £90 per week left...that will go far to clothe and feed us and 17 and 15 yr old boys, specially when they may be classed as children but their clothes are adult prices...
My husband has worked for yrs, i have never claimed for anything myself, just been a stay at home mum who`s lived on hubby`s wages and just made do...
WTH is happening with this country?....[/QUOTE]
The trouble with this country is people not working and living off benefits, people who don't see why they should support their own children.0 -

Does your 17 year old receive EMA?
School dinners are not that bad and when money is tight, then we all have to make do..including the younger ones.
Clothing does not need to be bought on a regular basis and certainly not every week (or even month!), any chance of the 17 year old getting a paper round or something to buy their own?
For food shopping, could you search around for bargains, end of lines, coming up to date? Can save oodles (and my local co-op does have them all the time), make big stews etc....there are a lot of good tips about feeding families on very little in the old style bit. (I just ask my mum)
Could you check to see if the meters have a problem? Mine were eating money last year until a fault was found...was a nice surprise to get largish cheque at the beginning of summer. The recent warmer weather should also see a reduction in this and can only get better as we head into spring and summer.
I know it is tough adapting to new circumstances and a lower income but it is doable, you just have to get creative (miserly as well :rotfl:)
I talk from experience...I went from being in a two income 60k+ family to a single parent on benefits with 3 very fast growing boys.
I know it is frustrating but people are trying to help you get through a difficult time with practical solutions until tax credits are sorted out.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
