I'm getting connected with a Virgin phone and TV but AOL is my Internet service provider. I currently pay 9.99 a month for AOL and will be paying 32.99 for my Virgin TV and home phone package. I'm reluctant to leave AOL as i've been with them for years. Can anyone tell me how reliable Virgin Broadband is and whether it is worth me getting rid of AOL? One of the reasons i don't want to get rid of AOL is because i want to keep my current email address.

120 quid a year is a lot of money just to keep an email address.Get some gorm.0

Switch to a google mail address and you can keep it whatever your ISP.
Or register your own domain name - that's what I did ten years ago. A friend hosts it for free and it just costs a few quid every couple of years to renew the domain name. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -
ive had the same yahoo addy through about 3 changes of ISP.

I left AOL for sky and kept my e-mail address - no problem.
However I found that using googlemail was more flexible -and I can still keep my aol address with that.0 -

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. One small glitch for a few hours in 3 years, I've had good service with Virgin Media, and a steady 9.7/9.8 Mbps, for £9/mth.Can anyone tell me how reliable Virgin Broadband is and whether it is worth me getting rid of AOL?

You can leave AOL (which we've just done) and keep your AOL email address. We only moved to SKY today and I've been using my AOL email this evening. Also had it confirmed by AOL customer services. Different lay out but actually prefer it.I'm getting connected with a Virgin phone and TV but AOL is my Internet service provider.
