Sect 75 refund - Not as straightforward as I thought

Just need to add that I became involved with Cartel Client Review Ltd in Jan/Feb 2009. Will the Credit Card company try to wriggle out of it due to time lapse? Im getting worried about chances of getting my money back. Im sending Halifax Card Services Cartel's Terms and Conditions.
I love the irony of accusing the bank of trying to wriggle out of it dues.0 -
The merchant has not provided the service it was supposed to therefore section 75 should apply.
I have found the documentation and will be persuing my refund as regardless of who the claim was made against Cartel Client Review did not provide the service it claimed it would.
Section 75 as i understand it is insurance to protect the consumer and as i have insurance why should i not make a claim?0 -
Im a Cartel customer and am presently trying to recover my £990 Cartel fee using Section 75 on my Halifax Credit Card which I thought would be straightforward. I contacted Halfax using the Section 75 template available on MSE, sent them a copy of BBC news report relating to Cartel being closed down and copy of letter concerning CCLS being shut. Halifax replied to my letter requesting Cartel Terms and Conditions etc and proof of invoice, what attempts I have made to contact Cartel etc. I never received an invoice from Cartel. The Cartel representative swipped my Credit Card they gave me the standard credit card transaction slip. Evidence of the transaction is on my Halifax Credit Card Statement. In my first letter to Halifax Card Services I outlined all my actions. The letter they have sent me more or less asks me for information I had already given them! Im beginning to get worried that Halifax are trying to avoid reimbursing me. I have responded to Halifax reminding them that the Cartel cannot be contacted as they have been closed down. Any advice appreciated.
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together.
The crooked getting swindled by the crooked ! Which one is worse than the other ? Nope, I' can't find the answer either!0 -
In the end it's only chancers who thought they were going to get something for nothing, that paid money to these "write off" companies.0

It's not an insurance. It holds that subject to certain conditions the credit provider jointly contracts with the supplier in providing the cardholder with goods/services and therefore is liable for performance.0 -
If it was insurance, a hold raft of people would be after compo on the basis that they were mis sold insurance by using their credit card.
Hang on, I think I have an idea for a business opportunity.0
