Agree with Passatrider. Don't pay up until you have spoken to CAB (and take all documents with you). If they have completed the sale, I doubt very much if they have a legal standing. Different if they gave you an estimate over the phone, then turned up and fitted, then gave you the new bill. Of course, if you really wanted to, you could just phone them up and say you demand a refund, and they can have their screen back (Obviously, only if you had somewhere else lined up to do it)Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

            Free with Quinn.

Perhaps one reason why they're in administration now.

As others have said - Im pretty sure once you have the invoice and money has changed hands then its a done deal and thats that. It might be a problem if they haven't cashed your cheque yet but I still think you'll be on pretty good ground not to pay them any extra.0

What sort of car was it where a Windscreen costs £618???
I had a look at online windscreen suppliers and the most expensive I saw was £250 (BMW X5)0

Contract law - once both sides have completed their side of the contract - ie they've done the work and you've paid - it's a done deal. If one side later finds out they've undercharged you that's their tough luck. It's up to them to correct the price before they take your payment.:T:T:T

            Hello
We weren't paying on our insurance as we're trying to build our no-claims bonus up so were just going to pay ourselves for the windscreen.
 Thanks xx
I suggest you read your policy to see what it covers overall as clearly you are lacking awareness and your next problem will be along any minute now.

I'd be telling them where to stick that invoice.......Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0

Unless you're a pilot £600+ for a windscreen is robbery. That said you'll already have signed a bit of paper saying that you're happy with the work and the sum you originally paid is in full settlement of that work, so it's not your problem anyway.0

They have quoted you the price, you have paid the price so to speak and now they have done the job.
Can it be considered a quote when the OP was told "it may come to a bit more"?
 Sounds more like an estimate.0
