Virgin Media cabinet faults - contacts?

Hi

(Cutting long story short) I (and local council) have reported a faulty VM green cabinet several times in last few weeks - it's giving out a very very loud buzzing sound, constantly.

I've had no contact from VM and no action has been taken.

I phoned VM today and spoke to someone in an overseas call centre who claims that the department in question "don't have phones" and that there's no action they can take other than filling in the same form - and then hung up on me. (Glad I'm not a VM customer).

Stuck now with this awful noise (can be heard halfway up the road) and not sure where to go with it.

Anyone have an idea of specific contacts within VM or any other ideas?

Thanks

What form have you filled in?

    Is it this one? http://allyours.virginmedia.com/forms/cabinet.html

How do you know they are unaware of the problem? The problem I assume being only the noise and not lack of connection for users.

Is it one box on it's own or two next to each other?
If it's one of the two,is it the small one or the larger one?
The large one is the Phone Mux & the smaller one next to it is the DA (Distrabution Amplifier) for the TV.
The Mux can give out loud buzzing noises from the cooling equipment, mostly in the hot weather. The cabs are alarmed so if the is a problem, then NTL might know about it already.
If you're in N.I then I can pass the details on but I dont have access to other franchise details anymore.

Yes that one - not sure which the council use. Well if they're aware or not they've not had the decency to contact me (unlike BT who came out within 2 hours)
Not sure about connection as I'm not with them (thankfully)

One of two - will pop out in a min and check if its the smaller or not. The buzzing sound has been ongoing way before weather change. Other green cabinets locally are completely silent.

Update - in case anyone randomly has the same problem in future and comes across this via Google.

VM were completely useless - in the end I had to email their CEX (last night) - had a response within ten minutes and the cabinet was finally fixed today.
SO glad I'm not with VM - one of the most awful call centres ever.
  • Hi there,

I am having the same problem, who did you contact to get it sorted. Many thanks
