2 pc's 1 monitor?

plug one pc via the vga port and the other via its DVI port. Hopefully your graphics cards will support it. (some have both vga and dvi ports). The monitor should select automatically between the two depending on which PC is turned on.
As for speakers - unless its awkward to get round the back of the pc - just swap the jacks over.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

It would be. The base unit (and another once bought) is under the desk and swapping cables is a pain at the best of times. We use the pc a lot so we'd be swapping jacks throughout the day so not too practical for us.Herman - MP for all!

thought the other poster needed a seconder, plus if you had both pc's booted up there is a software solution called "Synergy" which I have used when needs required it. do you want to share keyboard and mouse as well, cos they take as much desk room as a monitor0

After a morning 'fixing' stuff that's happened after daughter and OH use the pc, I've had enough and I've now decided I want my own computer.
Is there any reason why I can't have 2 pc's both joined to the same monitor? Most monitors have duel inputs don't they....if not, is there some sort of adapter available? I don't have space for another screen.
The pc's wouldn't be getting used at the same time btw.
Bearing in mind that you have a flair for wiring if not for diagrams
use a KVM , I have one with sound support too and it also allows soft switching so PC-A can run it's Malwarebytes full scan whilst you can post things about their problems on this forum, or whatever. Sadly I have no access to the switch at the moment so I will post in a while if I can find the email for the purchase if it's one I saved on my webmail system. I think it was an ATEN switch, and I am certain I bought it from misco. will get back soon if possible 4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Yo found it (not on webmail old friend Firefox.....) the one I use is £15.99 and is here. It has been a good friend and when I run a full scan on my system then the wife can continue playing her games on hers

Just wanted to post to do this >

Thanks for link. Can't argue with £16 if it does the job.
