I understand your reluctance, but actually, the suggestion is sound enough. It is not a software link - it is a network link equating to the monitor cable - it does not connect at the level of software or hard disk contents.Ohhhh no, thanks for that suggestion Lil306 but I want no software link between 'my' pc and 'their' pc at all.

what i use and its never given me any problems.
sounds perfect for you. you can have the button on your desk to switch and you can if you want install software on both pcs and configure key combo's to switch screens.0 -

for what its worth, I had a cheap vga KVM a few years ago and the display quality was noticeably worse when using it. maybe I was just unlucky, it was v cheap. My current monitor has 2 inputs, so I use that.0
