I have had the misfortune of parking on a McDonalds restaurant site for over an hour and a half, while using the restaurant i might add and have received a £75 fine which has now gone up to £125 because I didnt pay in time. I am disputing the fine at the moment, and have written to Mc Donalds who have been really nasty and suggest that I was using the car park for other means ie going off somewhere else (its almost in a field where would i go ?). Anyway i am so stressed with everything else at the mo and wondered if I could get any advice on these horrendous fines.
thanks
thanks

Hi - I've moved your thread to the Parking Fines board although you should note this is not a fine - it's simply an invoice and an unenforceable invoice at that.
If you take a look at this thread you'll see that after trying to scare and threaten people into paying the scammers will leave you alone once they've realised you aren't going to be intimidated.0 -
Just ignore this nasty little scam. Most if not all of the people who will advise you to ignore have done just that and have never gone to court.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

You have not been fined, you have received an unenforceable scam invoice. Do not contact CEL, do not pay and ignore all their threats. They will give up eventually.0

And don't be fooled by the name "Civil Enforcement". That's just one of the tricks these private parking companies use to give them sort of pseudo-legitimacy. They are just a bunch of private citizens with no more power to demand parking charges than you or me.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Hi and thanks for moving the thread to the right forum! The only thing is I just dont know how to use this site very well, so how do i follow my replies, and why do i get an envelope icon different to everybody elses?
It is really worrying me this Civil Enforcement thing as they say there were loads of signs, CCTV etc I dont say i chose to ignore them, but really didnt take it seriously. I mean i was there for breakfast with an old friend and we got carried away with the time, we did go out and check vehicles but nothing then we got worried and left, kinda spoilt things really.

I too have had one for parking in Nisa's supermarket carpark. I took mine to the store yesterday and they said loads of people had come in that day with the same parking fine and the Manager was sorting it out. I was given a number to ring, which I haven't yet, but i will post the outcome. Thing is people some of these maybe legit.
I was under the impression that the parking was still free at Nisas but it changed. They had this system where you take your registration number to the checkout and they give you 90 minutes free parking for spending £5 or more. Now I read the board outside and it has the address of this Civil Enforcement place in question, the Liverpool one complete with the 'nottingham' telephone number as well as the charge and that they use cptn or something cameras.
So i'm just warning people if they are unsure when they get these fines from that Civil Enforcement place please go back, read the board, if there is one, from where you parked and go in the store or wherever it was and query it. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES pay the fine unless you are absolutely sure that it is LEGIT.0 -
Anyone got a useful template so I can dispute my 'notice' ? I can't let these people get away with it0

there's no need to "dispute" a notice from a private parking outfit, the thing is just unenforcable toilet paper anyway. Don't send them any letters, template or otherwise, and they'll waste time and postage sending you threatening letters which you can safely ignore, until they give up and try to scam some other mug. Follow the advice given in squillions of threads on here, and they won't be getting away with anything.Anyone got a useful template so I can dispute my 'notice' ? I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0
