what I'm saying is closing down 3 accounts and reopening them, re-applying/transferring over £100k in loans including some DTi, transferring over our overdraft facility, having to get my solicitor to co-sign all guarantees again, and all for the sake of £20 a month. I'm sorry but when you look at the bigger picture it really is more hassle than its worth especially with the economy in the state it is. Who is to say they will allow us the same overdraft or loan amounts? Like I said I don't agree with what AOL has done, but in the grand scheme its a lot more hassle than a couple of phone calls could fix. Even our bank manager has said it would be more hassle on our part than its worth for such a small amount. I just dont agree with AOL's method of debting money.

sorry, hang on...AOL are charging you for an account they themselves cannot find??!! !!!!!!. Write to them and tell them that as they can't find it, it clearly doesn't exist and therefore you wont be paying for it!!!!

Why would you need to close down 3 accounts?
Why not just the one the payment comes from?,. as Morty_007 says, why not write cancelling any and all accounts with AOL?
Why can you not, or did you not, contact the previous owners for the login details?
Your Bank manager sounds useless!, He should be doing all he can to help you find out where this money is going or stop the payments. especially, as you say, in this economic climate.

All three accounts are linked, from what our bank manager has said we would have to close our existing accounts and reopen new ones. We did fax a list of all the transactions for him to investigate, but because AOL are a "trustworthy" company they wernt able to take proceedings against them.
I will write to AOL again and push harder, thinking about it your right they should have some paper trail of the account and be able to trace it by card number, they obviously just wernt prepared to escilate it high enough last time.

Surely the direct Debit promise kicks in? You need to tell AOL they are no loger authorised to take the money from the forst time you spoke to them, tell your bank they are (and have)taking unauthorised money and go from there. Don't continue to make yourself the victim in this, please do something to help yourself.

For the address you simply don't use it at, I'd be amazed if you could get a refund. For the other, I don't understand it. I was of the opinion it's not possible to have two broadband providers on one line. So the one who's not providing you with a service, you shouldn't be paying.

Its not a Direct Debt though, its a re-accruing card payment, something which is apparently quite different to a direct debt.
I'm onto AOL though, so hopefully this time I will get a more positive response.

Nope, unfortuanatly not. It just gets transferred onto your new card. It's honesty a method of payment I believe needs an overhaul as it's open to abuse buy rouge trades people.
