Thanks for the welcome, seems like a charming community

If you're going to post curt responses that are just plain wrong then expect to be corrected.
Me, I do sarcasm. If you can't handle that wait until espresso gets hold of you!

You decided to post an incorrect response based on duff information and 'skim-reading' a massive 8 posts??!!

Oh, and I think you'll find it's called 'alan'. :D

Firefox, when I open Open Office and click on Open Office Org.calc I get the following:

    THE REQUESTED OPERATION REQUIRES ELEVATION

It was a free download so do you know what this means?

Jake'sGran - I'm pretty sure you have downloaded and used OpenOffice in the past.

If you have downloaded OpenOffice in the past you will already have what you're looking for - OpenOffice.org Calc
    Try looking in Start > All Programs > OpenOffice.org > OpenOffice.org Calc

Please see my late post. I knew there was some reason why I could not use the Open Office Excel type programme. I click it and it says:

    "the requested operation requires elevation".

    Hi Jake'sGran
Sounds like Vista's UAC (User Account Control).
A quick fix is to right click on 'Open Office Org.calc' and select 'Run as administrator'.
