In that case for starters upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 (or even 8).
IE6 is very old, and some websites are deciding not to support it any more.
Alternatively, simply use another browser. Such as:
Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
Opera: http://www.opera.com/

Check Tools - Internet Options - Privacy - Sites to make sure they haven't got blocked. I had a problem logging on to Ladbrokes on IE for ages until I found out it was because it was set as blocked in there.0
