What browser and version are you using? Can you tell us an example web site that doesn't work?

    What does this site claim?

    http://www.isjavascriptenabled.com/

It is definitely JavaScript it's complaining about and not Java?

its also argos site that says This website is best viewed with JavaScript enabled.
It appears that either your browser doesn’t support JavaScript or it has been turned off.

You're very probably using Microsoft Internet Explorer. The "BT/Yahoo" thing is just re-branding. Can you get the version please? Try the help menu, "About Internet Explorer".
