Need to sell paper shares ASAP- best method ??

Options
hi all,
i was having a good look at some online share trading sites
the main problem seems to be that its paper shares i hold, electronic shares seem to be more common in the buying/selling arena these days
a few odf the companies were quoting up to 2 weeks before i could sell,as i would have to send them my share cert. and wait for it to be checked
so would prob work out cheaper for me to deal with a shop who i could walk in with my cert.,and they are able to deal with it almost immediately, because in 2 weeks time the price may have dropped again
anyone had the same problem, and found a way round it ?
the main problem is that i want to sell the shares right now,not in 2 weeks time.
many thanks

Just going into any high street bank you have an account with or any local stock broker would be quickest, BUT you will pay alot more £££ for the service.

Possible alternative would be to sell them through the company's registrar - which depending on the shares you hold will probably be either LloydsTSB, Computershare or Capita IRG. They each have online systems for shareholders to sell shares for 'their' companies immediately. All you need to get access is your name, postcode and shareholders reference - which is on the certificate. Minimum charges apply, but would probably be less than High Street Banks. You can see the exact charges before you deal.

    See
