Oil Central Heating-pd3fuel Conditioner

Any experience of / opinions on this

which boilerjuice.com claim decreases fuel consumption. Oil is so expensive now, but they do not back it up with anything to prove its effectiveness.

Siberean Snake Oil works just as well - and that is useless, as well as in short supply.

I seem to recall that you, or somebody else, responded exactly the same to my posting about the heatmax device, and all my insticts tell me you are probably right, but I thought it was worth a try!

IMO these things are as close to illegal as it is possible to get.

If adding 250ml to 1000 litres of oil(4,000:1) can decrease fuel consumption by up to 35% then at a mere £240 a gallon it would be cheap.

I cannot believe anyone would ever be taken in by such rubbish.

I suspect there is some clever wording that lets them escape the attentions of Tranding Standards officers.

Savings 'of up to 35%' probably means from 0% to 35% and guess which end of that spread it would be.
  • I'm a member of Which? and have asked them if they have ever done a report on these things. I got a really positive reply saying "I have searched our back reports and it would appear that we have not done anythying on fuel additives, although this is agreat idea I wil l pass this on to our marketing department to consider for the future"
  • Presumably just as useful as the magnetic rings that can be fixed to car fuel lines
