They cancelled my Direct Debit (and I didn't know) but supplied goods for a year.....

It never ceases to amaze me how many cyber saints there are floating around stuck in front of a keyboard. I bet you a year's supply of lenses they wouldn't volunteer to repay in real life if they could get away with it.
not saints just decent people, think that comment says more about you than them...0 -

I came to the site for constructive advice, not platitudes (to save you looking it means a trite or banal remark or statement, especially one expressed as if it were original or significant) and holier than thou moral guidance from people with nothing constuctive to offer. Get a life.0 -
The companies are out to make profit - they're hardly a charity why give money to them?
Obviously if they start chasing you, looking for the smallest nook to get out of it is a bit "un-saint" like, but I don't think people should do so without being asked - if you have moral issues, find a charity and give an equal amount.
The pain here is expecting to pay something off bit by bit and then suddenly finding a bill for it - could say, serves your own right for not managing your bills that well - but wouldn't you find it easier to notice something that IS on your bills rather than something that ISN'T?0 -

Yes - you are right - and I apologise unreservedley to Laz123 - I've had so many people trying to suggest I'm a trying to wriggle out of this that I guess I was guilty of reading his post the wrong way - Thanks Amistoso.0 -

Accepted.
I suppose I've been ripped off by so many companies over a lifetime that's why I suggested you should get away without paying. Good luck.0
