    Thanks for the update.

Regarding the issue of their barrister discussing the claim with you immediately before the hearing, this is common practice. There is an onus on those involved to try to resolve any claim between themselves right up until the hearing. It is not unknown that even at that late stage, a mutually agreeable resolution can be agreed to avoid wasting the court's time.

In regards to the judgement given, was the almsot £2k the judge knocked off the amount claimed as owed include the £1127 the bank had already agreed to refund you, or was that plus that amount? How much did you end up owing in bank charges? £5000+ or £3000+ ?

Either way, the judge stating you lawfully owed £'000's in bank charges will no doubt be a bitter blow to those hoping to reclaim their bank charges. (although of course, no legal precident is set in such small claims actions)

I'm sorry to hear that your health suffered too due to the stress of bringing this claim to court.

But I see you are clearly thinking of continuing your claim despite the judgement and the affect on your health. Or perhaps you are thinking of starting a new claim? If you want to complain to the FOS about something, then I believe you need to first raise that complaint with the bank to allow them the chance to respond to that complaint (e.g. the handling of the account in general, as opposed to the original request to refund bank charges)

Maybe you want to try & appeal the decision of the county court judge at a higher court?

I'm sure whatever you decide, you'll keep us all updated :)
