my ex partner pays through the csa and they then pay me could anyone tell me how easy it is to have this arrangement cancelled so that he can pay me direct? Do i just call up or do i have to put it in writing?

Put it in writing and send it recorded delivery, then make sure you receive confirmation they have closed the case.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0

Agree with above. Put every communication with the CSA in writing, keep copies of everything & send at least recorded delivery.
Personally, I'd send a confirmation email as well, because the CSA have this habit of losing even very important documents.Donedoingdebt Lightbulb moment January 2000. Debt at highest approx £102,000. Debt now (October 2009 - absolutely fork all!!!):beer:
CSA case closed on 02/09/10 :beer::beer:0 -
thanks for that - might have to send a few as they are always passing my case back and forth.0

Why do you want to close the case down with the CSA, if you dont mind me asking. What happens if your ex decides to stop paying. You will then have a fight on your hands to start everything up again , with lots of delays and things. Surely, if it works through the CSA then i would leave it. You only need to read through these forums to see that surely.0 -

Folk have forgotten to mention, the payment arrangement is not just up to your choice, the NRP has a choice of if they pay the PWC directly or via the CSA

That's not strictly correct. If the NRP wants to pay direct but the PWC doesn't want them, then payments have to be made via the CSA.
Just like the NRP can decide to pay via the CSA even if the PWC wants direct payment.0 -
I went through the csa to see how much he should be paying - they done the calculation and i asked for collection because i knew he wouldnt pay the amount if i had asked for it myself - but now that they have told him what he is supposed to pay he has started - I am the parent with care but i dont believe in taking all of his wages and leaving him with not very much to live on especially when im on benefits and have no need for all of what the csa say he has to pay - I buy the children what they need from what he pays and i save some of it - I dont feel right using the rest for myself as it isnt for me
Hope that makes sense0 -

Wow what a breath of fresh air!0 -
Gloomy past - agreed that OP is being resonable in her circumstance, but its important to remember that all PWC'S involves different circumstances and different financial needs. Unlike the OP, I do not receive any other form of financial benefit or support, I would welcome the 15% assessment by the CSA.

Thats good, iare your children younger. Mine are teenagers and they are coming to the end of their school time and going to go to college. I have been fighting trying to get monies from my ex for four years now and i will accept as much as the csa can obtain. My ex will not pay anything for my kids unless he is forced to. I have covered every aspect of child expenses from top to toe and also now have to cover college transport fares, expenses and one of them is hoping to go to University. So what i dont use immediately goes into savings to help them through college. eg My son grew over a foot in a year, so you can imagine how many new clothes he needed and he has very few luxury things. If i didnt have the CSA to help me obtain money, i would be struggling immensly in stead of just a bit. But i do understand that if your ex is happy to pay you regularly, the you dont need the CSA, but what happens if he stops paying suddenly?????0
