Spam button deleting whole threads

Over in the "Up Your Income" part of the forum, we Mystery Shoppers have an alerts thread. Basically we subscribe to it with "instant notification" set. Someone see's a new batch of jobs has been released, so they post a msg on the alerts thread, we all get an email and we can go on and bag some work.

So, 2 or 3 weeks ago, the thread that had been running for probably not far off a year had a spam message posted on it. Intead of reporting the individual post (which is cumbersome, as it is simply an email link, and many don't use standalone email software, so it is no use to them unless they know how to decipher the mailto link) so they pressed the spam button at the bottom of the page. The thread got deleted.

I started another alerts thread, only for it to have been deleted this afternoon after a spam message was posted. The url for the last one was

Would it be possible to bring the thread back from the dead please?

It would be nice if it was just for individual posts rather than whole threads
