    gt568,

im sure you understand the beliefs and religion of the countries we visit, and any pre-deployment briefs would of highlighted this.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Most popular items (according to my OH) were:

Small bottles of Tabasco sauce (for spicing up meals or carrying out to add to compo packs)

Regular copies of Autotrader - hours of entertainment and daydreaming

Liquorice comfits (don't melt, easy to share, good to use as "chips" for playing cards.... (Julian Graves do big bags of these and other sweeties)

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and thanks Alias for the advice. Parcel packed and ready to go, plenty of sweets, noodles, mints, biscuits, a little fan and batteries etc. Oh, and a letters from me, his Dad his brothers and sisters and a wedding invite to remind him he's bestman at our wedding on his R&R.

Just one more question, is there a limit to how often you can send a parcel?

    Thanks again

No no limit it just has to be within the weight and size guidelines - I think a lot of people use shoeboxes.

Hope he has a safe tour.

No matter what you get in a parcel they are always welcome at the other end. Its is always nice to get a bit of morale, local newspaper, hobby mag something 'normal' and what you would have at home to distract from the surroundings. Also if there is a particular event ie Easter, Halloween etc it is a laugh to get related stuff to that too.

You could always record a message onto a DVD and send that out to, or vid of the kids and stuff.
