Conservatory blinds - price estimations please for novice!

We're looking to get a 3x3m square shaped UPVC conservatory built on the back of the property (South - South East facing).

Hubby and I have zero experience of having blinds fitted so have absolutely no clue at all how expensive they are. Hence thought I'd ask on here to see what others have paid for a similar "amount" of blinds - to be fitted too - as we'd not have a clue how to do that :rotfl:

Not too fussy whether they're vertical or venetian but in an ideal world would quite fancy the thermal ones that supposedly keep heat in in the winter and keep some of the heat out in the summer (have seen them mentioned on the Hillarys Blinds website) - but alas I can't find any hints of any prices on any websites. And as we haven't even had the conservatory built yet we can't have people out to give us quotes!

But before we even get the conservatory built we're working it all out financially including the flooring, furnishings, etc..... blinds being something we'd like to include.

So if anyone has a 3x3m ish conservatory and has recently-ish had blinds fitted (of any kind - just wall and/or ceiling blinds) please let me know what you paid for them. :D

We had our Con built 8 years ago and the blinds (vertical) and a roller at the door was about £400!

Yep. My conservatory is about 12 ft x 8 ft and has a glass roof. All windows and doors have blinds, the ones on the roof are the pleated, tensioned thermal. Total cost £2K. I thought the man was joking but no- thermals are necessary if you want to use your conservatory 365/yr.
They take a lot of fitting but we didn't have the motorised ones

Do you think it might put you off installing a conservatory? We've had a fabulous new one put in over the autumn/winter, and are just waiting to see what it will be like once the weather heats up and if/when we ever get any sun again... There's lots of openers in ours - double doors, windows, roof window etc etc, and maybe that will be enough once we get a breeze going through it. I'm (half!)toying with the idea of setting up a patio umbrella over the settee to ward off the worst of the glare... but I'm a notorious tightwad!

You'll have to let me know how hot yours gets mandragora! We're really keen on the idea of getting a conservatory put on - really like the idea and could really use the extra space, but the blinds are all sounding ridiculously expensive for what they actually are - there must be a helluva profit margin.

.... as a follow up to my previous post, I've just gone on the quality-blinds.co.uk website as per recommendation earlier in this thread (thanks for that) - can someone with a conservatory of a comparable (3x3m size) do me a massive favour and give me some measurements of the windows you have? (I know they'll all vary to a degree but there must be some standard sizes) - its just I can't get an estimate without knowing some dimensions - basically width and drop of each window - and how many of those windows of that size are there? Anyone fancy doing me that massive favour? :D
