I was wondering if anyone has had the same e-mail notice that I have had from Virgin. In it it states that I am on M tv, M phone, M bb, which I knew. It also stated that on 1st April it was going up, by £1.49. Then it stated that I was to get 5 new channels. It named them. But when I rang because I hadn't got them, they said it was a "mistake" and that the channels I was getting I already have on my freview TV! PLUS they have reduced my bundle by £1 so in total I have to pay an extra £2.49 a month! I think they make their own prices up as they go along!
They say they have had no complaints of anyone else having an email like the one I have had, although my daughter is on the same package and she had one but deleted it!

As you're on quite an old VM broadband package (size M is obsolete now) - are you still in contract?
If not, it might be worth trying for an existing customer offer through retentions (e.g. cancellations).
VM are quite bad for keeping existing customers on high cost low spec packages rather than moving everyone onto the packages for new customers.
E.g. you can get Phone M, TV M & Broadband L for £14 a month (not including line rental).0 -
the price increase you have is £0.99 on the line rental and £0.50 on the broadband
as dylanuk mentioned give the cancellation department a call and see if they can do anything better for you.
dylanuk - u mention about Virgin keeping ppl on low spec packages - the M bb mentioned was actually uplifited from 2 meg to 10 meg - could you explain to me how that is keeping customers on a low spec package?0 -
Customers who were on 2mb and upgraded to 10mb are on very harsh traffic management compared to 'normal' 10mb customers.0

Disagree Robt. They are both severely traffic managed. I was on 10Mb before when my x was living at home, was an absolute nightmare, capped every other day. Got the upgrade and then downgraded so I stuck with the 10 Mb at cheaper price. Only download to their limits now, and keep an eye on the kids and haven't been a victim of their traffic management since i kicked the x out.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

There is nothing to disagree with - I said that *compared* to the normal 10mb service, the users previous on 2mb have very harsh traffic management
Having said that, the traffic management for the normal 10mb service is not particularly bad. You must have been watching high quality video for hours or heavily downloading to get capped every other day. The speed it is throttled to is also not slow enough to stop high quality video playing properly.0 -

at the same time the traffic management is a lot less harsh than the 2mb service that they were on previously - so the speed increased and the traffic management was relaxed a little bit0 -
