    Hi Andy and welcome.

Try this tel numebr here to make sure first:

    Tel: 01403 246300
    Fax: 01403 246351

If the account is still running or have been for the last few years, then the chances are they may still hold the details, give them as many details as possible, full name, address, DOB and so on in order for them to track your details down.

However, if you have any old bank statements, check them, as the account number of the loan wouwld be shown next to the monthly repayments, if you have online banking, check that as well, this should allow you to go back so many years, it may be worth checking this all out first and take it from there.

    In regards of reclaiming:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
They have 8 weeks in full to respond.

If you let us know how you get on, we can take it step by step from here, for instance if they are no longer active, it may be a case of having to pursue this case through the insurer/underwriter instead, the FOS are also suggesting this to lots of us.

I would also suggest to post your letters by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

Good luck and ask for help when required.;)

    Thanks Di,

That was a very informative reply, and i've sent a letter to that address, giving them my full information, d.o.b etc, so hopefully, they can find me that way.

I did try the telephone number, and it confirms DAF have now closed, and all correspondence needs to be written, and it re-confirmed the address you have already given, so thank you.

Just wait now to see what reply i get.... I'll not hold my breath though.

PS - Where is the email address from?

Is it worth sending him a message?

    Hi Andy

    Your very welcome.

Oops sorry was meant to say, I found the email address with the address details on the FSA register search website:

    http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/firmBasicDetails.do?sid=127815

I can't see no harm in also emailing.

    Good luck with this.

  • Please let me know how you get on? have had stat demand from them and have to submit set aside in the courts by Thursday this week, worried to bits but wondering whether to settle for £2k then try and reclaim mis-sold ppi against them (the debt they are claiming is £4500 but have offered settlement of £2k). Does anyone know is this possible to settle out of court but then try and reclaim ppi?

Me and my ex took out the car in 2002 we split up in late 2002, i don't drive so he took car and assured me all would be paid but on 16th April I get a call stating my ex went bankrupt in March and has left an amount that they want to reclaim from me!! nice of him but after he stopped paying in 2004 why has it taken 5 and a half years for them to now out of the blue chase me with an instant stat demand with intention to make me bankrupt!! scared but was going to fight disputed amount based on mis-sold ppi etc anyone have any ideas before its too late?

    Hi there

I am wishing you luck with this case and hope it resolves in your favour.

It maybe a good idea to post about this as well on the debtwannabethread here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76
I am sure someone will have some good advice for you - or will at least lead you in the right direction.

However, in regards of the PPI, if this policy was mis sold to you then you can of course make a reclaim on this.
Check out the guidelines of reclaiming and if you think this applies to you then give it a go.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find a questionnaire to complete to send to the loan company (you write to the ones who set the finance up for you), they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
Also a cover letter will help to enclose with the questionnaire, with help from a letter template here:
    http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Money/documents/2007/10/26/PPIreclaim.pdf

I would though try to write in your own words and use the template as a guide, and the template is helpful to make sure nothing is missed.

Hope this helps, but in regards of the debt matter please do post on the first link posted, good luck and please keep us posted.
