Do BT have more Exchange infrastructure available to them...?

Options
I have recently moved from a Virgin cabled are in London to a non cabled. I am connected to the Fulham exhchange which I am sure is very busy. When I went through the o2 website they seemed to say that their 'fast' service' was not available, making me think that they have run out of ADSL2 infrastructure? So iam wondering whether BT have more ADSL2 infrastructure available to them in exchanges?

i will go to BT if they can provide me with a better service to other suppliers, but I wanted to confirm this is the case?

Also, is it easier to go through BT for a phone line and internet rather than 2 separate companies?

Any advice appreciated!

Your best option would be to pay BT for your line rental and go with O2 or BE which are LLU broadband providers on your exchange here

You always have the widest choice if you use BT for your line and then you can choose from many other suppliers for both calls and broadband. There is absolutely no benefit using BT for both!

It is possible that O2 have reached capacity at your exchange. I think the capacity is split between O2 and BE (they don't share it) so you could try and see if BE have any capacity in your area ?

It doesn't make a huge amount of difference if you take your phone and broadband with BT or if you get your broadband elsewhere. Personally I'd always go elsewhere for broadband as BT broadband is quite expensive and you can get a better service elsewhere.

What service have O2 offered you? If it's O2 Access (don't touch it), then yes they are out of LLU capacity on that exchange, and can only offer you a non-LLU service
But it may just be that your distance from the exchange is such that your line will not support the faster speeds offered by ADSL2+, in which case you will just get the O2 Home package (up to 8Mbps).
Not clear what you mean by 'the faster service'?
