Can someone help please. I currently have a Nokia phone on a contract with Vodaphone which expires in November, and I hardly ever use up all my free minutes. I am considering going over to PAYG as I feel it will fit the bill for me. Can I use my present phone but get a PAYG sim card. Or will I have to buy a completely new phone? Sorry I am not very up to speed with mobile phones.

If your staying with Voda it should be fine. When you cease contract tell Voda you want to go PAYG and their send you a PAYG sim and you get to keep same number.
If your phone is locked to Voda and you wont to go to another network the boys here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=226349 will help you unlock it.0 -
You could go to Orange who do what is called the "Virgin Tarriff". You don't pay any monthly fee, you don't get anything for free, basically it is a pay as you go, but it's direct debited monthly. Also no tie-in for 12 or 18 months, just stop when ever you like. Don't use the phone for 6 months and it's still there, open when you want to use it again.
The charges are quite far as well. Give orange a call and ask them about it. They don't actively publicise it. If you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain :hello:0 -

Err no! This tariff is ring-fenced i.e. only available to those who have it.
