Its a nice idea, but I think it would be better with an option to connect a hot water feed too.

I know it might lead to "hot flushes" but surely that would be a good thing sometimes.

Well hung basins and hot flushes :rotfl::rotfl: Starting to like this thread :p
  • I think its a very nifty idea, but then I never wash my hands in hot water, always cold!

If you don't put the lid down, spray from the toilet flush can spread for several feet, so I don't think that this design is ideal for hygiene, especially if it's only cold water for keep it clean. For info google "spray from toilet flush".

Not everyone puts the lid down.

Also to use the basin, clothes etc will brush around the toilet.

Goodness me. It's a wonder any of us survive! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think bathrooms generally have fewer harmful germs than kitchens. You really are into a whole new level of unnecessary worrying!

Would this look stupid above the toliet

Would it be silly have a basin in wc room and in bathroom?

What about this one - http://www.boundarybathrooms.co.uk/Bathroom-Suites/-/RAK-Compact-Slim-Basin-450mm-2-Tapholes_4455.html - we've got the single tap version of this. Its wider than the one you've chosen but its more slimline. Our toilet has the door at one end and you have to go past the sink to get to the toilet - this slimline sink makes it easier to get past in a 80cm wide room but we have the length of room to put this on the wall. I know where you are coming from because my inlaws have seperated bathroom and toilet and they only just have room to open the door so for them the only place to put a sink if they were to would be above the cistern as you suggest.

re the alchohol sanitizer - it might be worth pointing out that they do kill a lot of stuff but the one thing which is fairly immune to it is norovirus - the main cause of tummy bugs and the big thing you want to kill off after using the toilet! The best way to kill off norovirus is soap and water (bleach is better but you wouldn't use that on your hands!).

This will be excellent for the times (after dodgy chicken) when you have the runs and want to be sick at the same time
