I have used talktalk since Charles Dunstone announced "free broadband forever", in fact I still have all the paperwork from that era. This company have not caused me any headaches and whenever I've needed assistance, which has been rare, they have responded.
On a recent house move, they supplied me with a regional number in case my phone "go live" date failed, which it didn't, and neither did my internet "go live" date fail.
However disconnecting my router caused a problem and despite umpteen attempts to use the automated "connect & go" facility, I could not raise life.
Talktalks Team 1 made several attempts with no luck.
Talktalks Team 2 (in Mumbai) equally failed.
Several times they listened and hung up, no doubt dreading this problem.
Finally out of the blue, a Team 2 representative in Middlesborough solved the problem. It seems I had used the "connect & go" feature so many times that the router had been overloaded with new IP addresses, that it needed resetting to factory settings and with that, I was up and running.
I post this, simply to reassure anyone that TT isn't all that bad, and providing you remain calm, success isn't too far away.
Regrets ?, yes in a way, whilst I am loving every minute of living by the sea, my connection through no fault of anyone in particular is slower. Pictures drop down like a roller blind as though on dial up. Is there anything that can be done I ask?

Regrets, I have a few, but then again too few to mention.
Anyhoo, could you post your router line statistics, preferably plugged into the master test socket.

those 192 etc numbers, we went through that procedure about 5/6 times before we struck gold and yes, tt did say it was an old router with known problems. Even though it is now working, a new one is in the post. They despatched it before success came our way. They said keep the new one in a draw. Maybe I should use the new one, would that show an improvement?.
Coincidently, tt told me they were going to have two new models from May 1stThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Surley it is not just me?
Only a TalkTalk user could possibly view this as "success", well it is "free broadband forever", so you are getting what you pay for I suppose!
"My TT experience"
Your TalkTalk broadband experience is basically not very good is it!

You did ask if there is anything that can be done! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
