lpg tank empty and shell wont deliver

I moved into a house early March and informed Shell of this and waited and waited for the forms they were sending me in order to set up the account into my name. They eventually arrived just before the Easter holidays whilst I was away from home. I returned home to find the gas very low as my hubby had left it on high. We managed to speak to Shell last Saturday to place an order which we paid for upfront as the forms hadnt been sent to us therefore it wasnt all set up in our name. We told them we were very low on gas at that point and were told they would put us down for priority delivery. It is now Thursday and despite phoning them everyday for an update it still hasnt been delivered because they havnt got a date from the depot and they have no idea when a delivery wagon will be in our area. It normally takes up to 4 days for an emergency delivery. That time is up tomorrow and up to now there is still no date on the system for delivery so its looking like we wont have any until next week. We have no heating and no hot water. I just dont know what else we can do. They say there is no way they can speak to the supplier to see when they can get to us.
Is there any way of putting a gas cylinder onto our system in the meantime? I havnt got a clue about lpg tanks as we have just moved into our first property with one.
Thanks for any help.

could you contact another LPG supply company, (Flogas, Barton fuels, Total, Calor, Countrywide etc.. )depending where you are in the UK, and offer them your business, as Shell are not responding to your calls. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

I have no idea if I have a contract with Shell or not. I think there must be something because the landlords have said we get a better price in this house than they do in theirs because of the contract that was entered into. I think its 31p0

But is it likely that they have broken that contract......? not sure how it all works, keep logged on, someone with more experience should be able to advise.....good luck.
I gather you are renting? if not you could always consider changing from LPG to an air to water heat pump, do some research....it will save you a lot of money in the future. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

Yes we are renting at the moment. We have relocated quickly so needed to rent for a while.
They havnt broken the contract as they state up to 4 days for priority delivery and 5 days for normal delivery. I asked what happens if they still dont deliver by Monday which is the 5 days and he just said nothing, they do aim to deliver within the 5 days and that they would call me when they knew when it was being delivered.
Thanks for your help though.0
