quick plumbing question....help!

Hi My wife has asked me for £300 to pay a plumber to sort the following problems....
Cold feed blocked
no air in system
pipes need reconfiguring
and will take 2 men half a day. Im worried because i dont live there anymore and also they said it could be more depending... Also they havent put a quote in writing... does this sound dodgy?? should i ask for a written quote? They have said the system could go at anytime and then will cost thousands...which i really dont have....HELP!!!!!:(

Certainly get a couple more quotes......blocked cold feed??? NO air in system??..... and why on earth do the pipes need reconfiguring??? is the house being renovated....new kitchen....bathroom?.....sounds dodgy to me!!!
£300 pounds now?.....(thats £150 Each for half a days work.....Nice) could be £900 by the weekend then more. I'll Leave it up to you to decide.There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!
