The problem that'll you'll come up against is that almost all of the 'Tailors' you will see are just fronts. The work is done elsewhere.
The tailor that I use makes, predominately, mens' clothes . But he was one of the few I found who does the work on site.
He made some copies of my girlfriend's favourite trousers.
She seemed happy with them. His place is on the Phra Sumen Road, close to the Phra Sumen Fort in Banglamphu, Bangkok.

Most of the tailors who cater to foreigners are in the Sukhumwit Road(lower numbered Sois) and the Khaosan Road area.
I have never purchased clothes from any of these places, so can't vouch personally for the feel/fit etc.

    Good luck in your search.

In Phuket (and Ao Nang for that matter), they were everywhere. When they asked you if you were English and you said yes, they all (and I mean literally ALL) replied with "Ah, Luvvly Jubbly". I've no idea why!

After a while I got fed up with being accosted every minute (as I had already had my suits made), so I used to relpy with "Desole monsieur, je ne parle pas anglais". That made them leave me alone!

Maybe a little late but if you are heading to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, then you could try a plaza called SUngeiwang. They have quite a few tailors there. It is one of the cheaper places to get fashionable clothes. I am Malaysian and I know you can definitely get good quality suits in Malaysia!

    Yo Donnie what's happening ?
Quick question - what's the cheapest time of year to fly down to Thailand when the weather is good ?
    And where's a good place to take family with a couple of kids ( 10 + 8 )

    Ta.
  • hey guys, i got a recommendation of one of these tailors who do "house calls" or more like "hotel calls" who actually come from Thailand and come measure us up and send us the clothes later for much more reasonable prices. This isnt some kind of a scam is it?

    Ta.

Anytime after super-peak season. That's the period three to four weeks from the middle of December.
