Royal Mail Returning parcel what next

Options
Royal mail are going to return a parcel that wasn't collected by my buyer. Buyer hasn't been in touch as yet she's going to be a nightmare. First time round i had to file a NPB then she asked could she still have the item and i said yes, now she hasn't collected. Item as sent via recorded delivery.

Royal mail are returning the parcel but i'm not sure if i put return address on package :(

So i've got to wait and see if the parcel is returned to me but what do i do with regards to ebayer??

  • You do have the recorded tracking code so you are covered from chargebacks I guess. The buyer will have to pay return postage costs but I'm not sure what happens if you decline to sign for your own package.... It might get sent back to them. It might not so it's a risk

If you didn't put a return address the parcel will end up in belfast

I didn't think that you were able to send signed for mail without a return address?
I've always had to put one on when I've sent stuff that way?

I rang Royal Mail and they said the parcel was being returned to sender , if no return address had been on the parcel then it would have been sent elsewhere?

your local delivery office could check the track and see how it has been scanned
if its going to Belfast then it should be scanned RLB and would show as such on the RM intranet

and your link means? the item isnt lost, all it takes is a return address and back it comes
A Royal Mail spokesman said: "Each year 500,000 parcels are undeliverable because they are either incorrectly addressed or have no address or the intended recipient has moved.

"We do all we can to reunite them with their owners at a cost of £10 million a year."

The spokesman said around 15 per cent of lost items were sold off, "a very small part of the cost of running the centre".

My link was to explain what "Belfast" was.
And the OP says they can't remember if they put a return address on it...
so it *may* not come back.

How do you know that it's coming back, is that from online tracking? If it's been sent tracked it will have your address on.
