Best Interactive Cat Toy

Ok cat lovers, I want to get a new toy for the purry furry brigade, what do you recommend?

I've seen the fish bowl thing, the catit senses, the panic mouse... my oldest are coming up to 2yrs so want something that will interest them for a while to come.

And where's the cheapest place to get them?
Many thanks! :):D

  • One of our cats absolutely loved this toy:

    http://www.petsathome.com/shop/spring-fling-bobber-squeaking-cat-toy-by-play-n-squeak-15110

It's a mouse that squeaks when tapped or hit and it's on a spring so it bounces. Muffin loved to lay on her side and kick and grab the squeaking mouse. Although it lasted ages, in the end she dismantled it from the base and dropped it in the cat litter tray so I threw it away!!

Jasper, however, never really played with it. He prefers treats in one of these:

You put treats in the ball and adjust the holes in the ball so either the treats fall out fairly easily when the ball is knocked or when they get good you make the holes much smaller so treats fall out less easily! Only thing was he got too good at it!

Both are from Pets at Home.

Noah's all time favourites are the Turbo Track which he plays with several times every day (and night!); we are building up to something this much fun

And the Da Sparkler attachment for Da Bird, which he attacks whilst I am still putting the wand together! :rotfl:

Only available from Purrsinourhearts shop AFAIK (all profits to charity and great service): http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/catalog/
Both toys have the potential to entertain for many years as you can change the configuration on the Turbo Track and the attachments on Da Bird. I also find if you put a favourite away for a few weeks it will be met with great enthusiasm! :j

Lilys favourite is a plain rubber ball. I sometimes hear banging and crashing in the night and know it's her chasing her ball around. In the morning the utility room is in a right mess! :rotfl:

I might look into getting her a turbo track now I have seen the youtube video.

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of a Frolicat Bolt laser toy ( from Purrsinourhearts ) which promises to provide hours of fun. Hmm lets see if my gang of oldies fall for the hype.
They do all love various Yeoww catnip offerings.
Otherwise I have found regular household objects to be popular....cardboard boxes, scrunched up tin foil and the plastic pull ties from pots of tablets all provide fun and games.

sadly my cat doesn't seem too interested in the turbo track. he just kinda looked at it and thought it was a bit too much effort involved.

although he is obsessed with his valerian pompoms. he will even bring them to me, drop them at my feet, and then mraw at me so i will throw it!

    he also likes da bird.

I have a Bolt laser toy and when we first got it they both went mental for chasing it. Mylo was so happy when he saw it coming out the drawer he purrred for the whole 15 minutes. However, the novelty has worn off a little and although they still love it, they arent as excited as they first were. They like it better when i hold it in my hand to chase about! Its not quite quick enough for them when its on automatic.

Im going to get a turbotrack once our house move is done in May! We already have a simple pah version that they both adore so i think its defo a goer in this house!
