I checked GF's credit report and the CIFAS protective reg is up there - covering her at our last address (where her mum told the loan company she lived...after we moved out...) and her parents address.
I don't think her mum knows my address so we should be OK here...

**UPDATE**
The loan was due for payment today. We emailed Expressfin on the 27th asking if they had gotten a hold of GF's mother. They replied on the 29th (yesterday) saying NO.
However, GF's mum has texted GF and said that she had contacted the company and had the loan extended for another month and had paid off £100. And that she had proof in email and would forward it.
So today, we check GF's email and sure enough there is an email from her mum.
We open it, and attached is a PDF. Opened up, it's obviously an email from payday@paydayexpress scanned in and then attached. It was dated the 27th. Why didn't expressfinance say that they had spoken to GF's mum in their email dated the 29th? Is GF's mum still pretending to be GF on the phone? This is the only explanation I can think of.
This raised my suspicions - why not just forward the email??
On closer inspection, it's clearly doctored - the "To" field appears to have been covered up with the email address of GF's mum printed and stuck on the top.
1) it's in a different font
2) it's crooked
3) she got her own email address wrong - forgot the "94" at the end of her name!
So this leads me to wonder,
**Has she set up an email address in GF's name to make it appear oh so much more legitimate??**
This is getting silly now. Very silly. The loan company don't even seem to be bothered by it all. Awaiting a call from the fraud lady.
Further, experian are VERY good. They have been contacting companies left right and centre informing them that the loan applications are fraudulent. The CIFAS is all set up, the credit report is passworded BUT we can't get GF's bank acct details changed. Apparently to change an account number, you need to close the entire account, which isn't possible as it's overdrawn - interest free student overdraft being made use of!0 -

Sounds like you need to forward that pdf to Expressfin and ask them to explain why that has not told you that they had spoken to GF's mum?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Could the current account not be password protected also? Or could you speak to the banks fraud department? Or get a new current account set up anyway then if anything happens with the current account your girlfriend can show that she has another current account which is in use and this one is just having an overdraft paid off?0

She needs to go into branch soon, so she will ask then. She phoned Halifax and they were most unhelpful - just told her to go to branch.0 -

It's all being saved...
I don't think doctoring something like that is against the law unless it forms an article made or adapted for the use of exposing someone to a loss or risk of loss... or whatever the wording is...0
