I am shocked at your use of blackmail - it wasn't payroll's fault that you will not get paid, it is your fault - you chose not to get your timesheet in on time so I think blackmail is a bit cheeky - when I temped (which I did for many many years) I did everything I could to make sure my timesheets were handed in on time - from driving over 20 miles each way to the agency on a Sunday afternoon to going to the local shop or library to get it faxed over, I have even asked other temps if they would hand mine in and vice versa. Why on earth would you just assume you would get paid - how do they know what hours you have worked without a signed timesheet? That's like the lads on the building site where I used to work saying to me "well I'm down in the planner as supposed to be working all of last month so I must have been in" when clearly without signed timesheets from their supervisors I did not know what hours they had worked (no timesheet, no pay - they never missed a week LOL) - I'm not a mindreader and I seriously doubt your payroll department is either (I'd be impressed if they were LOL)

Who should that be booked to?

Why booked to anyone? If the OP is complaining about not being paid because their timesheet wasn't in on time, even with the extension, then I would have thought the approx £5 in fuel would have been a good investment. They had a long weekend to do that

I too think your attitude as an employee is dreadful.

Your timesheet is normally due on a Monday. So, I would expect you to have it prepared and ready on a Monday, even on a Bank Holiday week. If it had been ready, you could then have made some steps to get it to them. (When you received the text, did you even ring them to explain that you couldn't get the timesheet in today? They might have been able to suggest a solution, or accept your hours verbally, backed up by timesheet arriving first class on Wednesday)

So, you have been paid the hours they knew about.

If I was your employer, I would tell you you would have to wait until the next month to be paid the remaining week. If you could prove hardship, I might advance you half a weeks money to tide you over, but strictly as a one-off. late timesheet again = no advance.

I hate it when people think they have a right to be paid, no matter how much they ignore their responsibilities to their employers.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I wouldn't be suprised if the agency don't need you to cover shifts shortly.

Ditto others comments. Why can't you borrow the £50 diesel money. I'm a temp like you too and whenever I've submitted a timesheet in late (my fault etc) then I get paid late. Why on earth do you think you're someone special and you can go on being lax? And then to blackmail your supervisor...

You're lucky to still have a job to be honest.

I temped and the most important task was handing in my timesheet - signed and on time. Perhaps this is a lesson you could learn.

So let's see if I have got this right, an agency selects you to work for them for another company and asks only that you do a good job and ensure you get your time sheets in on time. This agency has a decent number of people working for them I expect, so their payrole is quite heavy each week/month. I expect they invoice and get paid by the companies that contract them on the basis of an invoice with time sheets as proof. So if they do not have a time sheet for one person then they cannot invoice on time. If they then pay this person out then they may have to use an overdraft to get the monies to pay this employee as they cannot yet invoice due to no time sheet, this overdraft will be chargeable via interest and maybe a fee. Who do you expect to pay for that due to your incompetence? I am sure there are plenty out there they could employ who are able to do a simple act of ensuring their time sheet is in on time.

I can't believe that in this day and age people have to drive 30 miles to get their timesheets in!
Can't you scan and email them?

Some agencies have an online system where the client logs in and authorises timesheets online.

Maybe you can find an agency that has a more advanced system, if this is important to you.
