I didnt hand my time sheets in - not getting paid

Time sheets are due to be handed in a monday, this week being a BH i didnt hand them in!! Yes i know - company policy and that. What i want to know is how long will i have to wait to be paid the week i am owed? We get paid 4 weekly this Friday being PD will i have to wait untill 4 weeks Friday.

A couple of Q's i would like to know the answers too also?

Also if i am due to start work at 7am Monday morning when should i expect my rota to get to me? I think Saturday at the latest is reasonable?

And timesheets are due in on a Monday, the sheets are weekly so we do not finish them until Sunday afternoon if i post them they don't get there until Tuesday so i am expected to make a 30 mile round trip to get them there on Monday is it ok for my employer to expect this?

Thanks in anticipation of your replies x

Will you not just be a week short? And when you get paid next time you'll have an extra week in there?

As for getting the timesheets, are you able to fax them over or scan and email them so they get copies on the Monday and actually get the hardcopies on Tuesday?

yes i will be a week short - sorry i didn't make that clear. But without the week i won't be able to afford to work next month (Spend approx £50 a week on Deisel) They have said they will enclose it in next months wages but it's a long wait lol x

With it being a bank hol what day were you supposed to get the time sheet in?

My old company the cut off day was Wednesday and they got paid Friday for the Monday. I guess it depends on how many staff there are etc.

Have you tried asking them if they can put it through? Or have they just refused point blank?

we have to submit ours early a week early in the case of the week ending good friday if we do not then we get paid that the following month not good as they invariably get the pay wrong anyway
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.
  • You missed the deadline and will need to wait until the next payday.
Late timesheets are a complete pain and I wouldnt expect many companies to accept them where its simply the staff were late.

lol i understand there a complete pain. But they have never "enforced" this time sheet rule before although it does say it in company policy and on the time sheets themselves, it's a relatively small company 20 members of staff. They were due in on Tuesday at 1.30pm, i recieved a text at 11.30am to say they had to be in by 1.30pm

  • So what do you propose?
They just dont pay anyone until everyone hands in their sheets? Or they just pay people when they can be bothered at extra cost?

They extended the deadline and you still missed it

they didnt extend the dead line lol, they didnt expect them on the monday as the office was closed :D Or maybe they did expect them on Monday but surely that would be even more unreasonable x

  • But they did from Monday until Tuesday 130pm.
If our deadline was Monday I would expect them sitting for me on Tuesday or count them as late and this is common. Its your responsibility and no one elses.

Surely they'll be reasonable about this - after all, if they're unreasonable, they will risk you telling their client about them and they won't want any negative PR will they. Why not ask them if they run a payroll between now and next month - if they do, can you be included on that? Or if not, is there a chance that they would CHAPS the money to you and you pay the fee for it? I think its around £30 - at least then you'd get something and hopefully be able to afford the petrol.
    Just suggestions....
